Planning Permission on House Extension in Wincham Cheshire

ABL Planning was asked to provide planning consultancy services for a comprehensive scheme of extensions and alterations to a detached residential property in the village of Wincham, Cheshire. The client approached us seeking professional planning support to navigate the application process and provide reassurance that their development proposals would be handled expertly from submission through to determination.

We worked in close collaboration with the architects, SBS Design, the scheme encompassed multiple extensions to the existing dwelling designed to enhance living accommodation while respecting the property's established character. The proposals included external alterations that would improve both the aesthetic appeal and functionality of the home, with careful consideration given to how these changes would integrate with both the existing building and the surrounding residential context.

While the proposed development was not inherently controversial, several factors required careful consideration. Wincham's established residential character demanded sensitive design responses to ensure the proposals would integrate harmoniously with neighbouring properties and the wider streetscape. The project also required ensuring full compliance with Cheshire West and Chester Council's development plan policies, particularly those relating to residential extensions, design quality, and residential amenity.

ABL Planning's approach focused on conducting a comprehensive review of relevant local and national planning policies to ensure the proposal aligned with all planning requirements.

The scheme was approved well within the 8 week determination period and no pre-commencement conditions were attached to the decision.
